Current Fishing Report

With the winds calmer today, we have reports of bluefish on both bait and lures, black drum and pufferfish on shrimp, and puppy drum on cut bait. We are expecting showers this evening as the winds switch to the S/SW which should increase the catches in the surf.
Cheryl and Steve Cavalier of Semora, NC shared their photo of Cheryl's 29" red drum this AM. Steve becomes our derby leader for his 3 lb 4 oz black drum today. He also caught quite a few pufferfish. Carrie Lipps of Ocracoke caught nine bluefish today on bait and becomes our derby leader with her largest bluefish of 2 lb 2 oz. Sam Wright of Vale, NC shared his photo a black drum this AM before heading back out. Jeff Brinn of Conover, NC shared his photo of a 25" puppy drum and briefly was the black drum leader today for his 2 lb 13 oz black drum. Cheryl Brinn also had a nice bluefish. Russell Emerson of Conover, NC becomes our kids derby leader for his one pound 6 oz bluefish. He also shared his photo of a puppy drum yeaterday. Grace Brinn shared her photo of a 18" puppy drum from yesterday. David Simpkins of Washington, NC stopped by before heading home and let us take photos of David and Sarah's red and black drum. Sarah becomes our kid's derby leader for her 5 lb 7 oz black drum. Matthew "Rex" Marshall of Richmond, VA had to work today but shared his photo of a black drum before heading home.
