Fishing Report
We have reports of bluefish, flounder, sea mullets, and a few pompano from the beach. Most of these are caught early in the day before 10 am or after 4 pm. The beach has been fairly crowded 10am-4pm as all the user groups are out together.(But maybe they will go back and make those phone calls to their congressman to cosponsor/support HR 6233 and SR 3113 in Congress. Tommy at The Variety Store has been nice enough to place the flyers with this information out yesterday and today as well as the Clarks of Edwards of Ocracoke and the Eshams at the Pony Island Motel. Thanks!)
Richard Carpenter of Advance, NC stopped by this morning for a photo of his bluefish and a hello to his brother who reads the report daily. Chris Miller of Cary, NC shared his photo of a nice flounder that he caught. Larry Linton, Jr of Bath, NC caught a dogshark Monday while fishing off one of the private piers Monday. Hayley and Trent Linton of Bath, NC showed off their 10# and 12# dolphin caught yesterday offshore. Capt Ronnie O'Neal of "Miss Kathleen" shared a dolphin photo of his charter with Tom Wheaton and Warren of Nelson County yesterday.
Inshore reports include lots of spanish mackerel, a few puppy drum, some pompano, bluefish, grey trout, and some flounder.
Offshore reports include dolphin, amberjack, and a couple of wahoo.
Have a safe and happy 4th of July and have fun fishing!
Melinda
