Fishing Report
Ocracoke was a little cloudy and had a couple of storms come through yesterday which stirred up the fishing a little more than we have had. Reports from the beach include plenty of small flounder with a few keeper sized, nice sea mullets, pompano, bluefish, and some spanish mackerel in the early morning.
Ryan Young of Wilmington, NC had a citation size pompano and sea mullet yesterday while using sandfleas as bait. Andy, David and Kathy Howell, Lauren and Michael Isgett had another great day on the beach and finally caught more than sea mullets. They added pompano and flounder to their catches of sea mullets. Paul Ramos of Raleigh, NC shared his photo of one of the needlefish he caught Friday on the North end of the island. Matthew Hardin of Asheboro, shared his photo of one of the croakers he caught on Friday. Capt Ronnie O'Neal of "Miss Kathleen" shared his photos of a couple of charters from Friday. John Harris and his family from Roxboro, NC had a nice catch of flounder. Bob and Bobby Montgomery of Louisville, KY had fun catching amberjack while out on "Miss Kathleen".
Inshore reports include spanish mackerel, pompano, flounder, and bluefish. Offshore reports include dolphin, wahoo, and kings.
Have fun fishing!
Melinda
