Fishing Report
The fishing reports are at both extremes- either folks have found a nice spot and are catching quite a few fish while others are not having much luck. Those catching reported nice bluefish, sea mullet, a couple of pompano, large catches of small flounder with some keepers, some large gigged flounder, and quite a few sharks.
Rusty Mister of Ocracoke,NC becomes our new derby leader for his 2 lb 11 oz flounder caught earlier today. Whitney Osment of Mt Holly, NC spent some time last night catching sharks. Shawn Queen of Kings Mountain, NC caught flounder last evening while drum fishing.
Capt Ronnie O'Neal of "Miss Kathleen" shared his photo of Ron and Tracie England with grouper and dolphin. They also caught triggerfish and black sea bass. Capt O'Neal also had a photo of Ron Stillman and his family's charter yesterday for triggerfish and black sea bass that he shared.
Capt Reid Robinson of the "Devereux" shared his photos of two charters this past week. Scott Skaug released a big blue marlin and 30 minutes later his wife released a larger one. Mr. Mike Good, Mr. Dugan, and Mr.Sheets had a nice catch of dolphin while out on the "Devereux".
Inshore reports still include spanish mackerel, cobia, and flounder.
Offshore reports include amberjack, dolphin, and sailfish.
Have fun fishing!
