Fishing report
The fishing was great yesterday up and down the beach with large bluefish taking cut baits, finger mullets, and squid. We heard of a couple of red drum just out of the slot limit also.
With the storm front that came through last night, the winds have increased and are expected to blow throughout the day, keeping alot of people off the beach.
Eight year old Nolan Roberts of Newport, NC caught a nice bluefish using mullet. Joe Martin of New Cumberland, PA had several bluefish yesterday. Earl Bumbaugh and Larry Zilch, both of Mount Union,PA also had quite a few bluefish and shared their photos with us. George Ortman and Gill Williams, both of Ocracoke, NC went back out yesterday and caught more bluefish using finger mullet. Emily Kowalchuk of Newport News, VA had a nice bluefish while out yesterday.
Jon Paige, Scott Novinger, and Wayne Fadoul all from Virginia caught bluefish up to 11.5# using mullet.
Inshore reports include puppy drum and large bluefish. Capt Ernie Doshier of the "Drum Runner" and "Gecko" shared his photos of Alan Doshier with a red and blue.
