Surf fishing reports for the past few days has been a little slow due to the cold weather and wind until today. Today we had a much warmer day without the heavy breeze and we heard of puppy drum, a few bluefish, and dogsharks.
Judi Dudley and Dale Newton of Scottsville, VA celebrated Judi's birthday by catching some nice puppy drum for dinner and releasing several more.
Bob Toth of Ocracoke, NC also had a nice 23" puppy drum today and stopped by the store.
The next few days are expected to be warmer so maybe we will see a few more people out on the beach.
The local commerical fishermen caught a few stripers in the inlet during their 3 day season, but with the winds, it was tough work.
