FISHING REPORT ARCHIVERating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: Pictured here is Kenneth Back with a citation cobia caught from the surf at the south end of the island while fishing for drum. The cobia weighed in at 52 lbs. and we were told it took Kenneth about 30 minutes to land him. There were quite a good number of citation sized red drum caught and released as well as big bluefish. Some of the anglers were Jim Haynes from Roanoke, VA with a 36" bluefish and a 26" puppy drum; Danny Garner (Jr. & Sr.) caught one 8 lb. and 10-3/4 lb. bluefish, Hunter Williams from Richmond caught a 9 lb. bluefish, Mark Dickey from Durham, NC caught and released a 45" red drum. The numbers have slowly been drifting in this morning for those fishing last night. We also heard of gray trout, sea mullet, smaller bluefish and flounder. Sound fishing still great for gray trout. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there. Keep fishing! Rating: |
